Day 2 saw Team Malaysia take on Scotland across the board — and it turned into a day full of grit, close battles, and big wins.
Izzat Shameer got things off to a strong start, taking down former World No. 1, Jason Banks in a hard-fought three-set match, 7-2, 5-6, 1-0. He was pushed again in the afternoon session and narrowly missed out in an even tighter contest, 7-8, 8-8 — a real back-and-forth battle.

In the pairs, Amirul Danial & Soufi Rusli delivered a composed performance to beat the experienced Scottish duo Paul Foster & Alex Marshall, 6-2, 4-4. Later in the day, Idham Amin & Soufi Rusli kept that momentum going, grinding out a tough win against the same pair, 6-2, 2-11, 1-0.

On the women’s side, it was a day of fine margins. Emma Firyana faced Caroline Brown twice and pushed both matches to the limit, but fell short in two tie-breakers (3-8, 5-4, 0-1 and 9-5, 3-4, 0-1). Despite the results, both matches showed real fight and determination.
The women’s pairs stepped up well. Aleena Nawawi & Syafiqa Haidar edged past Beth Riva & Caroline Brown in a close one, 4-3, 4-4. Alyani Jamil & Syafiqa Haidar followed with a strong comeback win in the afternoon, 6-2, 4-7, 1-0.
