
MOHD Hazrul took the whole week off for a special occasion.
The husband from Seremban wants to see his wife Nurul Alyani Jamil in “live” action at the ongoing ‘World Cup 2025’ in Bukit Kiara.
And it turned out to be a memorable one, too.
Hazrul witnessed Nurul begin with a strong start turning the tables on World No.3 Selina Goddard of New Zealand in the women singles event – 2-0 (7-4, 10-3).
“She is on fire … I never got to see her play in any international Championships abroad.
“It really made my day and I am happy for her,” said Hazrul.
A confident Nurul said she has a good feeling playing at home and also with her husband around.
“It is a good start but a long way to go,” said Nurul, who will be completing here Sports Science degree at UiTM this year.
Her career highlights include a bronze at the 2023 World Champion of Champions in Australia.
Nurul will compete in the singles and pairs event with Emma Firyana Saroji.
